Polyamory is practiced in various configurations of relationships as many as can be imagined and agreed upon. The common themes are more than one loving partner for at least one person in the situation and that all people involved aware and consent to the relationship model. Some variations are triads (three people living together and all are sexually involved), Vees (one person with two lovers which themselves may or may not be platonically associated) , quads (usually two couples interacting hetero and/or bi-sexually ), networks of friends (where a group of platonic friends share lovers), line marriages ( a couple where one is a second partner is added who adds another etc.) and group marriages (where there is a closed sexual relationship shared by many). And so on...
